IPU’s new premises to support business expansion to 30 million
IPU Group has announced plans to increase its workforce by over 40% after acquiring a new global headquarters in West Bromwich. The 55,000 sq ft premises in Cygnus Way will support the company’s ambitious business expansion plans by bringing its sales, management, manufacturing, storage and distribution functions under a single roof.
“This location could have been custom-built for IPU,” says IPU’s Managing Director, Robert Beebee. “We will be able to make dramatic improvements to customer service levels and improve the efficiency of our sales operations. There are so many facilities we wanted in-house but we lacked the space: a larger fabrication area, a paint shop, equipment storage and a conference centre. At Cygnus Way we can realise our full potential.”
Supporting a structured business expansion plan
Beyond the functional advantages, the new premises demonstrates IPU’s confidence in the improving economic climate and promotes the prestigious image the company deserves. Robert Beebee continues: “Our business expansion plan sees IPU Group growing to a turnover of £30m by 2018. This will be supported by an expansion of domestic sales and the development of overseas markets in Asia, the Middle East and South America. We anticipate employing at least another 45 staff in the next five years to facilitate this growth.”
The new acquisition would have been impossible without the support of several business partners. Cushman and Wakefield helped identify the property, Sandwell Council supported the move and Barclays Bank provided the finance. Spearing and Waite assisted by handling legal matters while Honour Point arranged the insurance.
