Marine certification for starting systems
Marine certification for systems meeting auxiliary, critical and ‘dead ship’ requirements are handled through a number of specific classification systems.
The governing societies include:
-
- Lloyd’s Register of Shipping
- ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers)
- BV (Bureau Veritas)
- DNV
- GL (Germanischer Lloyd)
- NK (Nippon Kaiji)
- RINA
Each classification shares a common minimum standard for a hand-pumped system capable of delivering three starts within a 30-minute period.
IPU’s starting systems can be certified to the standard required by the client.
